Delete your CastMate data

Last updated: 8 September 2026

If you still have the app: do it there

Open Settings → Delete my account and data. It is one screen and it does the whole thing:

Every remote step is attempted, and the erase on the phone runs whatever happens — if Drive cannot be reached, the screen tells you what was left behind rather than claiming a clean sweep.

If the app is already gone

Uninstalling removes the journal, photos and settings stored on the phone. An optional backup in your Google Drive may remain.

There is usually no way to match a request to the anonymous account. The journal needs no named sign-in. CastMate's anonymous identifier is kept in the app's storage, so after uninstalling you no longer have that identifier to include in a request. If you gave an email address in feedback, you can use it to identify that message.

These four kinds of data can outlive an uninstall:

Making a request

Email info@castmatefishing.com with the subject Deletion request. Tell us which data you want removed and include the session code or the address you wrote from, if there is one. Anonymous conditions cannot be linked to a request.

We reply within 30 days, and normally much sooner. If there is nothing on our side that we can tie to you, we will say that rather than leave you waiting.

What is kept regardless

Crash reports and usage counts (Firebase Crashlytics and Analytics) describe the app rather than you: which screen was opened, which build crashed. They carry no catches, no coordinates and no photos, they are not tied to a person, and they age out on Firebase's own schedule.

Anything unclear
